What art style is this?

Upload an image and AIKIZI decodes it: a three-word style name, seven two-word core tokens, a layered Style DNA (Foundation, Primary, Secondary, Accent), a hex palette, the lighting, the composition and the materials, plus a prompt you can start from. Google sign-in. 5 credits on sign-up; a decode is 3.

Most pictures are not one style but a mix. The decode gives the mix a three-word name, then shows what it is made of, so you can check the name against the picture.

Three decodes, three answers

Three published decodes: a portrait, a surreal scene and a flat graphic. The words under each picture are the decode's own, unedited.

How to read the answer

The decode reads a picture in four passes: composition, light, colour, materials. The three-word style name sits on top of them; read the passes first and the name makes sense.

Composition is where the subject sits and how the frame is divided. The portrait puts a profile on the rule of thirds. The forest is a low-angle wide shot ruled by one vertical monolith. The graphic is a flat top-down plane cut by sinuous curves.

Light is where it comes from and how hard it is. Side, dramatic and rim light carve the portrait, and that one fact explains two of its three style words. Moonlight sets the forest's hour. On the flat graphic the light pass has the least to say: overhead, studio, ambient.

Colour is five swatches with hex codes and a palette mode: chiaroscuro-driven monochromatic with warm accents for the portrait, high-saturation whimsical nocturnal triadic for the forest, analogous forest green and cerulean for the graphic.

Materials are what the surfaces are made of: velvet, metal and glass in the portrait; automotive paint, tree bark and mushroom caps in the forest; pressed paper, felt and a noise shader in the graphic. It is the pass most people skip and the one a generator needs most.

The seven core tokens are the short form of all four passes, two-word phrases to paste into a generator. The full list of tabs is in the decode guide.

Photos, AI images and paintings

The three decodes above are AI images. The same four passes run on a photograph and on a painting; what changes is which pass carries the reading.

On a photograph the light pass leads: the direction of the key light, the depth of field, the grain.

On an AI image the decode also reads the finish. A generator mixes looks, and the three-word name names that mix: the forest above is hyper-real on the surface and a fairy tale underneath, and its name says both.

On a painting or an illustration the materials pass reads the medium: paper grain, ink, brush marks, flat colour. In every case the decode names light, palette and material. It does not attribute the picture to an artist.

FAQ

Is it free?

Sign-up gives 5 credits once, and an image decode is 3 credits, so your first decode is free. The 2 credits left do not cover a second one; after that you need a plan. The plans are on the pricing page.

Does it work on photos, AI images and paintings?

Yes. The same four passes run on each: composition, light, colour, materials. On a photo the light pass carries most of the reading; on an AI image the decode also reads the finish; on a painting the materials pass reads the medium. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 50MB.

What is Style DNA?

A recipe for the look, in layers: Foundation (40 to 60 percent), Primary (20 to 30), Secondary (10 to 20) and Accent (5 to 15). It sits in the STYLE tab next to the seven core tokens and says what the look is made of and in what proportion.

Can it write a Midjourney prompt?

Yes. Every decode ends with a prompt of about 70 words written from the analysis. It is a prompt you can start from: copy it into Midjourney, Gemini or the AIKIZI Studio and change what you need. It is words only, with no parameters.

What about sref codes?

Some decodes carry a Midjourney style reference code. It stays locked on the decode page; Pro members unlock it there. No code is printed on this page or on any free page of the site.

How accurate is it?

It is a reading, not a certificate. The decode names what it can see: where the light comes from, which five colours dominate, what the surfaces are made of, how the frame is divided. It does not attribute the picture to an artist and it does not say who made it. Its three style names are a description, not a verdict.
