Blue noise
Random dots kept evenly apart with no clumps, so patterns look smooth.
See it in Dither engine. Set Algorithm to Blue noise and compare it with Bayer.
In plain words
Truly random dots clump together in some places and leave holes in others. Blue noise is random too, but no two dots sit too close. The result looks even, with no pattern and no clumps. Eyes find it pleasant, which makes it good for dithering and for scattering points. The name comes from light: blue sits at the high end, and this noise has only fine, high detail.
