Text flow guide
Start
The tool opens with a short paragraph (the Art preset) in one column, wrapping around a circle. The line under the presets counts the lines.
What you need
- A current browser. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all work.
- Some text, if you want your own. You can type or paste it into the box; nothing is needed to try the presets.
Your first result
- Open Text flow. The Art preset is already set around a circle.
- Press a preset under the text box, such as Long, or type your own text in the box.
- Drag the circle on the canvas. The lines next to it grow and shrink as it moves.
- Under Layout, pick a Mode, such as Multi-column, and move Columns.
- Press Save PNG at the top of the panel, or Copy.
Good to know
- Save PNG saves the canvas as text-flow.png, at the size of the frame on your screen times your screen's pixel density. It is a standard range (SDR) picture; nothing here is HDR.
- Copy puts the same picture on the clipboard, where the browser allows it.
- The PNG holds what the canvas draws: the text, the shapes, the dashed column box when Show bounds is on, and the grid and line guides when they are on. Turn those off first for clean text.
- Every mode moves the text around the shapes: a column, a circle, a wave or a perspective all give way to them.
- Press Enter in the text box to start a new line. An empty line leaves a gap.
- On a phone the controls sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Tap the bar to open them.
