Vein growth guide

Three looks

Each picture below was made in Vein growth from its two sample pictures, with a preset and Replay, and caught late in the run, when picture B shows. The table lists what was set and pressed. A run moves fast, so a picture you save will be a different moment.

Root rise

Thick white trunks rising from the bottom edge over a pearl-crowned figure before spires
Root rise late in the run: trunks climb from the bottom edge.

Press Root rise under Presets, then press Replay at the top of the panel.

Five trunks start along the bottom edge and branch upwards. A high taper keeps the trunks thick and the tips thin. Strong ease out grows most of the network early, then slows as it reaches the top.

Set Sprout from to Tap point (radiate) to grow the same kind of roots from any point you tap.

Gold circuit

Thick, glowing gold lines winding over a pearl-crowned figure before spires
Gold circuit late in the run: gold lines etched in from the edges.

Press Gold circuit under Presets, then press Replay at the top of the panel.

Fewer points, a high light bias and strong edge follow keep the lines to the bright outlines, and a long step makes them straighter. Expo out does most of the growing in the first moments.

Set Tint to Image color to keep the same lines in the picture's own colours.

Coral fan

Thin crimson veins fanning out from the centre over a pearl-crowned figure before spires, one bright streak running up from it
Coral fan late in the run: wide crimson sprays from the centre.

Press Coral fan under Presets, then press Replay at the top of the panel.

The widest capture radius lets each tip reach far, so the veins fan out in broad sprays from the tap point, the centre until you tap. At 2.8 seconds it is the slowest preset.

Tap anywhere on the picture to grow the fan from that point instead.
