Wind Tunnel guide

Start

The tool opens on Sri Lanka in the south-west monsoon, already flowing. Everything happens on your own graphics card.

What you need

• A browser with WebGPU: Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Safari 26. Without it the page says so in one line and draws nothing.
• Nothing else. There is no picture to bring and nothing to sign in to.

Your first result

1. Open Wind Tunnel. Within a few seconds the first eddies peel off the island.
2. Press another island under Island: each one starts with its own prevailing wind, and the line under the chips says where it is and which wind that is.
3. Turn the wind with From under Wind. The land turns under the running sea; nothing starts again.
4. Raise Re. Below about 50 the wake lies still; above it the street forms; past several hundred it turns ragged.
5. Choose 1080p or 4K and the seconds, then press PNG for this moment or MP4 to record the flow from now.
