Carved Light guide
Start
The tool opens on a sample picture, already lit. Everything below happens on your own device.
What you need
- A browser with WebGL2 for the light, and WebGPU to read the depth of your own pictures, as in a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. Without WebGPU the sample still works and the page says so in one line.
- The first picture of your own downloads the depth model once, 47 MB. After that it stays in the browser and opens in a moment.
Your first result
- Open Carved Light. The sample is already lit with Soft key.
- Press Image A at the top of the panel, or drop a picture anywhere on the page. Its depth is read in your browser; the status line counts the passes. The light falls on it at once, flat, and takes its shape when the first pass is done.
- Drag a light across the picture. Drag the dot on its ring to raise or lower it, or use the wheel. A light below zero is behind the subject and draws only its edges.
- Pick a look along the bottom of the picture, then press Save PNG, or open Reel to record the light moving as an MP4.
Good to know
- Press and hold the picture, or hold \, to see it as it was. Compare puts the two side by side.
