Chromatic fluid guide
Keep your work
Everything is made in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Every picture and video here is standard range (SDR); none is HDR.
| Button | What you get |
|---|---|
| Export PNG | The picture as you see it, as chromatic-fluid.png. |
| Copy | The same picture, on the clipboard, where the browser allows it. |
| Record video | The moving picture from the moment you press it until you press Stop recording, as chromatic-fluid.mp4 (H.264, the kind phones and Instagram play). |
The fluid is worked out on a simulation grid of at most 512 cells on the long side, in the shape of your picture. The PNG is the picture as drawn: up to twice that grid on a computer, and the grid size itself on a phone. A small frame draws it smaller.
The video is recorded at 30 frames a second, at the size of the picture, with no sound, as an MP4 in H.264, written in the page itself. A browser that cannot encode H.264 (Firefox) gets a WebM instead, named by what it really wrote.
Recording keeps going until you stop it. Some browsers cannot record a canvas at all; the page then says so.
