Dither engine guide
Keep your work
Everything is made in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Every picture here is standard range (SDR); none is HDR.
| Button | What you get |
|---|---|
| Save PNG | The whole frame as dither-engine.png, background included, as it looks at that moment, pushed dots and all. It is the size of the frame on your screen, times the screen's pixel density; phones use at most 1.5 times. |
| Save SVG | The dots as dither-engine.svg: a background rectangle and one shape per dot, the size of the frame in pixels. It stays sharp at any size. |
| Copy | The same picture as Save PNG on the clipboard, where the browser allows it. |
The SVG is not a copy of the screen. The dots are at their resting places, even while they are pushed. Squares, circles and diamonds keep their shape.
The dot colour, Sampled from image included, the background and Opacity are kept, as on the screen.
The SVG holds one line of text per dot, so a fine grid with many dots makes a big file. The dot count under the image buttons tells you how many shapes it will hold.
