Image shatter guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Image shatter from its two sample pictures, with a preset and Replay, and caught while the pieces were moving. The table lists the buttons pressed. A run moves fast, so a picture you save will be a different moment.
Explode
Press Explode under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
Only 10 cells fit across the frame, so the pieces are large. They are thrown almost three times as far as in Crystallize and spun hard, and a low stagger sends them nearly together. Expo out starts fast and slows sharply, so most of the flight happens in the first moments.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Explode |
| Load and save | Replay |
Tap a corner of the picture, then press Replay, to throw the pieces across the frame from there.
Sliver wave
Press Sliver wave under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
34 cells fit across the frame, so the pieces are small, and a stagger of 0.85 makes them leave in turn from the tap outward. The break reads as a wave spreading over the picture.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Sliver wave |
| Load and save | Replay |
Move Stagger to 0 to send every piece at once instead.
Frost break
Press Frost break under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
Facet edges at 0.9 draw the darkest cracks of any preset, so the pieces look like broken ice. Back out moves fast and overshoots: the pieces fly a little past their mark by about 60% of the run, then settle back as they fade, clearing at the end. See overshoot.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Frost break |
| Load and save | Replay |
Raise Cell density to break the ice into finer pieces.
