Particle universe guide

Keep your work

Everything is made in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Every picture and video here is standard range (SDR); none is HDR.

ButtonWhat you get
Save PNGThe frame as you see it, as particles.png, on its dark ground. While Trail is above 0, the streaks are in the picture too.
CopyThe same picture as a PNG on the clipboard, where the browser allows it.
Record videoThe moving frame, from the moment you press it until you press Stop recording, as particle-universe.mp4 (H.264).

The PNG is the frame's size on your screen, times the screen's pixel density: up to 2 on a computer, and up to 1.5 on a phone. A bigger window makes a bigger PNG.

The page encodes the frames itself as it draws them, H.264 into an MP4 that opens anywhere. A browser that cannot encode H.264 (Firefox) gets a WebM instead, named by what it really wrote. See WebM and MediaRecorder.

The video runs at up to 30 frames a second, with no sound, and has no time limit. A short message says Recording when it starts and Video saved when it ends. Turn the cloud, push it, or pick a formation while it records; a cloud that does not move makes a still video.
