Spectral transition guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Spectral transition from its two sample pictures, with a preset and Replay, and caught while the layers were changing. The table lists the buttons pressed. A run moves fast, so a picture you save will be a different moment.
Texture swap
Press Texture swap under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
The order is detail first, so B's fine texture arrives while A's broad shapes and shading hold. It uses 5 layers and eases out, so most of the change happens early.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Texture swap |
| Load and save | Replay |
Set Band order to structure first to see the same run with the roles turned round.
X-ray cross
Press X-ray cross under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
Band stagger and X-ray ghost are both at 1 and the picture is split into 7 layers, so the layers pull fully apart and each one's contrast is raised while it changes. At 2.8 seconds it is the slowest preset.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | X-ray cross |
| Load and save | Replay |
Lower X-ray ghost to 0 to see the same staggered run without the glow.
Spectral dissolve
Press Spectral dissolve under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
With band stagger at 0.18 the layers change almost together, so it reads close to a plain crossfade with a faint lift in the edges. Expo out starts fast and slows sharply, so most of the change happens in the first moments.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Spectral dissolve |
| Load and save | Replay |
Move Band stagger up a little at a time to see shape and texture begin to part.
