Eleven Music: a track from a sentence
Prompting ElevenLabs Eleven Music (v2.5): decide genre, mood, instruments, tempo and era, narrate the arrangement, add lyrics or go instrumental. A worked 60-second brief you can run free in AIKIZI Studio.
Decide genre, mood, instruments, tempo and era before you write. Say them in that order, in studio words, then narrate the arrangement from start to finish: "start with", "then bring in", "drop out". Name a BPM and a key if you know them. Sixty seconds is the sweet spot.
A music model is a session musician who has heard everything and forgotten nothing. It does not need adjectives; it needs a brief. The people who get great tracks out of Eleven Music write briefs the way a producer would talk to a band: what kind of track, what it should feel like, what plays, how fast, and what happens when.
AIKIZI Studio runs the newest Eleven Music model, v2.5 as this is written, and gives you a duration, an instrumental switch and a lyrics box. Everything else is the sentence you type.
What the model does, and does not
Intro to outro in one pass
Not a loop. A structured piece with sections, from ten seconds to three minutes in Studio.
Sung lines, if you want them
Leave instrumental off and give it lyrics, or let it write its own. Turn instrumental on for a bed.
It knows studio words
"Sidechained", "tape saturation", "brushed snare", "Rhodes", "half-time" all mean something to it. Use them.
It cannot copy a song
Name a mood, an era, an instrument. Do not name a track or an artist; that is not what the prompt is for, and it does not help.
Five decisions before you type
Genre
One genre, maybe a second as a shade. "Organic house" beats "electronic". "Devotional bhajan with a modern low end" beats "Indian music".
Mood
Two words. "Warm and unhurried." "Tense, then released." Mood tells the model where the energy sits.
Instruments
Name them, three to five. The rhythm section first, then the lead, then the colour: "Juno pads, sub bass, brushed kit, a single flute line".
Tempo and key
"96 BPM in C minor" is worth a paragraph of adjectives. If you do not know the key, give the tempo anyway.
Era and production
"Early 90s, dusty sampler, a little tape hiss" tells it how the track should be recorded, not just what it plays.
Narrate the arrangement
After the five decisions, tell the track what happens in time. Use transition words and the model follows them: start with, then, bring in, build, drop out, return, end on. If there are vocals, say when they enter: "lyrics begin at fifteen seconds". For a loop, say what to leave out: "no melody, just drums and bass, loopable".
Organic house, warm and unhurried. Layered Juno-106 pads, a deep sine sub, a soft TR-909 kit with brushed hats, one Andean pan-flute line. 118 BPM in C minor, jazzy minor-seventh chords resolving through suspended fourths. Start with pads and the flute alone, bring the kick in at fifteen seconds, add the sub at thirty, lift the hats for the last twenty seconds, end on the pads.
Genre, mood, instruments, tempo, key, then a timeline. Nothing is vague. The model has a job at every second of the minute.
Lyrics, or none
Turn Instrumental off and the lyrics box opens. Write short lines with a clear rhyme scheme; the model sings what you give it and shapes the melody to the syllables. Leave the box empty and it writes lyrics to fit the length. For a reel or a film bed, instrumental on is almost always right: words fight the picture.
A few habits that pay: put the hook in the first two lines, keep verses to four lines, and write the chorus once; the model will bring it back.
Doing it in AIKIZI Studio
