Ink Weight guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Ink Weight from its own sample, after pressing Try the sample. The table under each one is the whole recipe; everything not listed stays as the page opens.
The crow's words
The face, the neck and the collar are written in the heaviest characters of the set: crow, eagle, wing, feather, night. The dark around them is left empty, and the haze sets a scatter of light strokes back into it, faint, like trees behind the subject.

Lower Ground to bring the shoulders back, or set Haze to 0 for a clean ground.
Tamil, the Sea words
Tamil words for sea, wave, water, fish, salt, shore and pearl, with a few light marks, written across the portrait. Each letter is kept whole with its vowel sign; the tool measures each one's ink and sorts them, so the open letters fall in the shadows and the dense ones on the face and the neck. The spark turns to ௐ.

Two tones, written vertically
The columns run top to bottom and right to left, as a Japanese page is written, and stand a little apart. The subject is in the first ink; the haze behind it in the second, a cool blue.
