Lightning reveal guide
Start
The tool opens with two sample pictures, A and B, and the Crimson strike preset. The frame shows picture A; the panel sits beside it.
What you need
- A current browser with WebGL. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all have it.
- Two pictures of your own, if you want them. Any image the browser can open works; the samples are there until you swap them.
Your first result
- Open Lightning reveal and tap the picture. A red strike branches out from that point, and picture B opens along its branches until it fills the frame. See strike origin.
- Tap somewhere else. Every tap grows a new tree, so no two strikes are the same, and this one cracks B back into A.
- Press a preset under Presets, such as Storm fork, then press Replay at the top of the panel.
- At the top of the panel, press the Image A and Image B tiles to pick your own two pictures, or drop two at once.
- Press Save PNG for a still, or Record video to keep one full strike.
Good to know
- A tap during a strike does nothing; wait for it to finish. Replay always starts again at once, with the same tree.
- Every preset keeps Crack A into B on. Turn it off under Sliders for a strike over picture A alone, which stays lit when it ends.
- Moving any control takes the highlight off the preset, and the next strike uses your settings.
- The frame takes the shape of picture A. Picture B is stretched to that shape, so two pictures of the same shape look best.
- On a phone the controls sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Tap the bar to open them.
