Particle disperse guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Particle disperse from its two sample pictures, with a preset and Replay, and caught while the points were moving. The table lists the buttons pressed. A run moves fast, so a picture you save will be a different moment.
Dust settle
Press Dust settle under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
It has the most points and the smallest, a strong swirl and little scatter, so picture A turns into a fine haze that curls and sinks rather than flying apart. The fade curve is high, so the points dim early and linger faintly. At 2.6 seconds it is the slowest preset. See dust settle.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Dust settle |
| Load and save | Replay |
Raise Turbulence to 2 for the strongest swirl the slider allows.
Sandstorm
Press Sandstorm under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
A strong wind to the right carries 40,000 small points across the frame, with little gravity, so the picture streams sideways like blown sand and the left edge clears first. See sandstorm.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Sandstorm |
| Load and save | Replay |
Move Wind X left of 0 to blow the sand the other way.
Pixel burst
Press Pixel burst under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
Scatter is high and there is no gravity or wind, so bigger points fly straight out from the tap in rings. Expo out starts fast and slows sharply, so the picture above was caught very early; a moment later the points are gone. See pixel burst.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Pixel burst |
| Load and save | Replay |
Tap near a corner instead of Replay to throw the points from there.
