Seam melt guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Seam melt from its two sample pictures, with a preset and Replay, and caught after halfway, while picture B widens back out. The table lists the buttons pressed. A run moves fast, so a picture you save will be a different moment.
Digest
Press Digest under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
Protection is weak and spread wide, and the low energy gamma evens out the edge scores, so seams are taken from all over the picture, spires and figure alike. This is the narrowest the tool gets: at full carve, a little less than half the width is left.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Digest |
| Load and save | Replay |
Raise Protect strength to hold the centre while the rest is eaten.
Accordion
Press Accordion under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
A carve amount of 0.42 leaves more of each picture at the narrowest point, and the high energy gamma takes the plainest columns first, so the sky between the spires goes while the spires stay. Back out passes the end early and settles back, so B reaches full width well before the run ends. See overshoot.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Accordion |
| Load and save | Replay |
Move Energy gamma to 3 to spare strong edges even more.
Squeeze cut
Press Squeeze cut under Presets, then Replay at the top of the panel.
At 1.1 seconds it is the fastest preset, and expo out starts fast and slows sharply: A is crushed to its narrowest in about a tenth of the run, and most of the rest is B easing back to full width.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Presets | Squeeze cut |
| Load and save | Replay |
Move Easing to Linear to see the squeeze and the return take equal time.
