Shape Shift guide
Help
Short answers to what goes wrong most often.
It says it needs WebGPU
Shape Shift draws with WebGPU. Chrome and Edge have it on a computer, and Safari 26 has it. Firefox and older Safari do not yet; open the page in one of the others.
Can I use my logo?
Yes. Drop its SVG on the page, press Add picture, or paste the SVG code. A logo in one colour on a clear ground works best. Put your name after it in the sequence and it grows into the word.
My photo came out as a solid block
A photo with no clear ground is cut where it is darker than Photo cut. Move Photo cut until the subject stands out, or tick Light parts are the shape for a light subject on a dark ground. A PNG with a transparent ground keeps its own outline. See luma key.
Can I write in my own language?
Yes. Type any word in any script and press Add; commas split it into several marks. Latin words use Font for words; other scripts use the best font your device has for them.
How long is a Take?
One full loop of the sequence: the hold and the morph of every mark, up to 60 seconds, at 60 frames a second. The line under Frame says the length and the size before you press Take.
The picture is grainy
That is the ground's noise. Press Noise on in the dock, or N, to take it off, or pick Clean under Ground.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, with a recent Chrome. The frame carries its own buttons (pause, next, noise, add picture, picture and take) and the panel opens as a sheet from the bottom.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Words, marks and pictures are drawn in your browser and the files are saved straight to your device. Only the font you pick is loaded, from aikizi.com.
