How many AI images do you get for $20 a month?
$20 on aikizi is 540 credits: 33 images at 2K on Nano Banana Pro, 67 at 1K, 135 on Nano Banana 2. The full division, what $8 buys, and a real 55-credit set with its bill.
$20 a month on aikizi is the Pro plan: 540 credits. That is 33 images at 2K on Nano Banana Pro, 67 at 1K, 22 at 4K, or 135 at 1K on Nano Banana 2. If you spend some of it on decoding or downloading, subtract 3 credits per decode and 10 per download. Those are the whole numbers; everything below is how to make them go further.
$20, divided
| What you make | Credits each | Pictures for $20 (540 credits) |
|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana Pro · 1K | 8 | 67 |
| Nano Banana Pro · 2K | 16 | 33 |
| Nano Banana Pro · 4K | 24 | 22 |
| Nano Banana 2 · 1K | 4 | 135 |
| Nano Banana 2 · 2K | 8 | 67 |
| Nano Banana 2 Lite · 1K | 2 | 270 |
| Upscale an image you have | 15 | 36 |
The annual price is $216, which is $18 a month for the same 540 credits.
What $8 buys, for comparison
Basic is $8 a month for 180 credits: 11 pictures at 2K on Nano Banana Pro, 22 at 1K, or 45 at 1K on Nano Banana 2. Annual is $84, so $7 a month. The other difference between the plans is not credits at all — Basic allows 3 reference images per generation and Pro allows 10.
And the free tier, honestly: 5 credits, once, as a sign-up bonus. That does not reach a single Nano Banana Pro picture, which costs 8. It reaches two Nano Banana 2 Lite pictures at 2 each, or one image decode at 3.
A real $20 month
Here is a set we actually made, with the bill. Four finished pictures sharing one look, plus a character, plus sound:
That is what the cheap end of the ladder actually looks like — not a draft, a finished picture. Most of the arithmetic above assumes Nano Banana Pro at 2K, which is the expensive way to count. Half of what people generate would survive at 4 credits.
| Step | Credits |
|---|---|
| Four drafts on Nano Banana 2 Lite to settle the framing | 8 |
| The hero at 1K on Nano Banana Pro | 8 |
| Upscale the hero | 15 |
| Three more shots at 1K with the hero attached as a style reference | 24 |
| Voice, one sound effect, twenty seconds of music | 0 — inside the free daily ten minutes |
| Total | 55 |
55 credits. On $20 that is nine such sets a month; on $8 it is three.
The three things that change the answer most
- Draft cheap. Nano Banana 2 Lite at 2 credits is a quarter the price of a Pro draft. Deciding a composition is not a job that needs the expensive model.
- Upscale instead of regenerating. 15 credits keeps the picture you already like; a fresh 4K at 24 gives you a different picture. The comparison, with both results.
- Do not finish at 4K by habit. A full-width image on a laptop is about 1400 pixels across. 2K already exceeds it. 4K is for print and for crops.
Where credits go that are not pictures
Decoding an image is 3 credits, a video or a sound 10. Downloading someone's published picture from Explore is 10 and carries a creative-use licence — but reading any published decode, with its prompt, palette and style DNA, is free. Unlocking a style code is 5. Removing a background is 1. Credits do not roll over month to month; credits bought in a one-time pack do not expire.
FAQ
How many AI images can I make for $20 a month?
On aikizi's Pro plan, 540 credits: 33 images at 2K on Nano Banana Pro, 67 at 1K, 22 at 4K, or 135 at 1K on the cheaper Nano Banana 2. Drafting on Nano Banana 2 Lite at 2 credits gives 270.
Is $8 a month enough?
Basic gives 180 credits — 11 pictures at 2K or 22 at 1K on Nano Banana Pro. It is enough for about three finished four-shot sets a month. The real ceiling on Basic is references: 3 per generation against Pro's 10.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Subscription credits refresh each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credits bought separately in a one-time pack do not expire monthly.
How do I get more pictures out of the same money?
Draft on Nano Banana 2 Lite at 2 credits until the composition is right, make the hero once at 1K for 8, then upscale for 15 rather than regenerating at 4K for 24. A four-shot set built that way costs 55 credits.
Can I make images on the free plan?
Barely. The sign-up bonus is 5 credits and the cheapest Nano Banana Pro picture is 8, so Free will not reach one. It reaches two Nano Banana 2 Lite pictures at 2 each, or one image decode at 3.
The full credit table and every plan divided into pictures is in what one AI image costs; the plans themselves are on pricing.
