Color palette guide

Three looks

Each palette below was made in Color palette. The table under each one is the whole recipe; everything not listed stays as the page opens.

Triadic from one teal

Five colour bars in dark teal, purple, olive, blue and red
The Triadic rule around the base colour #2A9D8F.

The first bar keeps the teal hue. Purple and olive sit a third of the wheel either side of it, with blue and red between them.

In HSL each bar is a step lighter than the one before. The blue still looks darker than the olive, because some hues look brighter than others at the same lightness; see luminance.

Change the Base color and the whole palette turns with it; the rule keeps the spacing.

Neon Tokyo, as it comes

Five colour bars: hot pink, bright cyan, near-black, near-white and orange
The Neon Tokyo set from the Trending list.

A trending set is fixed: the same five colours every time. Three loud accents, a near-black and a near-white make a ready scheme for a dark page.

Lock the colours you want, then pick Random or From keyword to change the rest.

Two moods, held by locks

Two magenta bars marked Locked on the left, then three green bars
Two locked Cyberpunk magentas, then the Forest chip.

The first two bars were locked while they held Cyberpunk magentas. Forest then filled only the other three with greens.

Locks are how you mix modes: keep what you like from one, then make the rest from another.
