Depth terrain guide
Three looks
Each picture below was made in Depth terrain from the samples it ships. The table under each one is the whole recipe. Auto-rotate is off only to hold the view still for the picture.
The sample hills as a wireframe
With fewer segments you can count the squares. Each bright spot in the picture pushed them up into a hill.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Open | /lab/depth-terrain?mode=photo |
| Auto-rotate | Off |
| Segments | 64 |
| Render mode | Wireframe |
The sample map by ground type
This is the quickest way to check the guesses before you save files. A colour read as the wrong ground stands out at once.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Open | /lab/depth-terrain?mode=map |
| Auto-rotate | Off |
| Render mode | Ground types |
If a guess is wrong, change it under Ground types, or paint over it with the brush.
The sample map in low sun and fog
A low sun throws long shadows, so the slopes read clearly. Pale fog fades the far side of the land.
| Setting | Value |

| Open | /lab/depth-terrain?mode=map |
| Auto-rotate | Off |
| Sun angle | 200 |
| Sun height | 12 |
| Intensity | 1.8 |
| Fog | 0.4 |
