1 · wool · kolam
breeze
light air from the south, small gusts
A light breeze with soft eddies and small gusts over a short wool pile. The default, and the best mood for seeing a motif clearly.
Chapter three
Ten weathers, each with its own way of moving the pile and catching the light. Press a number to change the weather; hold shift to change the cloth too.
A mood sets how the weather moves, how the pile holds itself, and how the yarn shines.
Press 1 to 0, or click a name in the row under the top bar. The motif and colours of your rug stay as they are. To bring a mood’s own motif and colours as well, hold ⇧ as you press its number or click its name.
A mood is only a starting point. Every slider it moved is still yours to change afterwards. Choosing a mood also sets knots back to 220, ply to 4 and fade to 0.05.
1 · wool · kolam
light air from the south, small gusts
A light breeze with soft eddies and small gusts over a short wool pile. The default, and the best mood for seeing a motif clearly.
2 · silk · ikat
a slow swell rolls under the cloth
Hardly any wind across the top. Instead a long swell rolls under the rug and lifts the cloth in slow waves.
3 · wool · medallion
a cyclone tears across at double speed
Weather at double speed: strong wind, whirling eddies and hard gusts through a tall pile.
4 · silk · check
heavy drops beat the pile down
Fast, flickering gusts and a heavy weight that keeps pressing the pile down, like rain on grass.
5 · silk · field
no weight, the threads float
No weight at all. Long silk threads float upward and drift slowly, with bright tips.
6 · wool · kilim
the pile licks upward, tips aglow
Fast flicker, rising threads and strong light from behind, so the tips glow like flames.
7 · velvet · medallion
slow whirls wander the field
Almost still air, but whirls wander across the velvet and swirl the pile as they pass.
8 · velvet · temple
hardly a breath; draw in the velvet
Nearly no wind over a short, dense velvet, and your marks never fade. The mood for drawing with your hand.
9 · silk · stripes
a cold north wind lays it flat
A strong, steady wind that lays the whole pile down in one direction, with a high silk sheen.
0 · wool · stripes
open wind over long shag
Brisk wind and gusts through long, twisted shag. Broad stripes stay readable when the pile is this long.

| reach | How far sound moves the wind. | 0–1 |
| hearing | Three bars, low, middle and high, as Woven Wind hears them. |
Sound moves the live rug only. Videos keep the weather’s own clock, so they stay silent and loops still close. A song plays from your own computer; the microphone is heard inside the tab and never recorded or sent, and your browser asks first.
