Noise & texture guide

Three looks

Each picture below was made in Noise & texture at the size and seed the page opens with: 512 pixels and 42. The table under each one is the whole recipe.

Heatmap cells

Red cells with blue and green edges, like a cracked heat map
Voronoi edge in the Heatmap colour mode.

Pick Voronoi edge in the list of noise types, then Heatmap under Colour mode.

Voronoi edges are dark where two cells meet and bright in the middle of each cell. The heatmap colours turn the middles red and the edges blue.

Raise Scale for more, smaller cells.

Blue lattice

A regular grid of bright blue diamond lines on dark blue
The Caustics preset in a blue tint.

Caustics adds five waves together. At this scale they line up into a regular grid of bright diamonds.

The Tint colour mode runs from black to the tint colour. Most values sit near the middle, so the ground is a dark blue.

OutputTint
Tint colour#4fb3ff

Move Scale to make the diamonds larger or smaller.

Brown wood

Light and dark brown rings around the centre, with rough edges
The Wood grain preset in a brown gradient.

Rings grow out from the middle of the picture, and noise roughens their edges. The Gradient colour mode runs from dark brown to light brown.

End colour#d2a56c

Raise Scale for more rings.
