Standing Sound guide
Three looks
The same few seconds of the house piece, held, in each room. Every point stands where its own reading puts it.
Corridor
Press Corridor. The near ring is now; each second further back stands further away.
A note's pitch class sets where it sits around the ring, so a D an octave higher stands at the same place, further from the middle. See octave.

Hold, then turn the room until you look down the corridor: the threads become lines of notes coming toward you.
Bloom
Press Bloom. The middle is now; what you heard earlier has grown outward, the oldest furthest out.
The bearing is the pitch class, the height is the octave, so a melody draws a path around and up.

Score
Press Score. Now is the line of octaves on the right; the seconds run off to the left.
Depth is brightness, the spectral centroid of the moment: a bright consonant stands in front of a dark vowel.
