Title
The title is drawn into the PNG and the video, in the look's brightest ink.
What this is
The ASCII audio visualizer writes sound in characters. Each column is a pitch, bass in the middle and high notes at the sides; each row is a moment, with the newest at the top, so the sound falls down the screen. A quiet pitch is a dot and a loud one is a dense mark, from a blank space up to @.
How to use it
- Play the sample, choose a song, or press Microphone.
- Try the Ink look for plain white text, or any other.
- Save a PNG, or a 1080p video with the sound.
Every mode has its own page:

Common questions
Can I turn a video into ASCII too?
Yes, in another tool: Motion ASCII turns a video or your camera into moving characters. This page turns sound into characters.
How do I save the visualizer as a video?
Press Save video. Pick a shape first if you like (wide 16:9, square, or tall 9:16), 1080p or 4K, and the part of the song with From and To. The page draws every frame at 60 frames a second, adds the song itself as the sound track and your title if you typed one, and saves an MP4 you can post anywhere. It takes about as long as the clip, often less.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
It is free. Every mode, the microphone, your own songs and PNG pictures need nothing from you. The video is free too, in 1080p or 4K and for the whole song, however long; it asks you to sign in with Google first. There is no watermark on the video or the picture.
The sample song is Mystic Breeze by cyberyogi.
